Ziad Asghar

Ziad Asghar is senior vice president of product management and Head of AI at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc (QTI). He leads Qualcomm’s One Technology Roadmap for application processor technologies across all business units. Ziad has formulated and driven the AI strategy and roadmap in order for the Company to solidify its leadership in on-device AI to meet the growing demands of the generative AI revolution.

Additionally, he also drives the custom CPU, camera, graphics, audio, video and security technologies to build the best technology capabilities in the industry. He also leads the definition of products ensuring that our products lead in technology and enable best-in-class user experiences while making tradeoffs between features, power, performance, and cost.

Ziad is also responsible for competitive analysis where he works across all teams including engineering and product management to ensure that we have the leading roadmap in the industry. He works across all business units including mobile, automotive, computing, XR, edge cloud and IoT.

He has more than 25 years of experience in the wireless semiconductor industry where he has held a broad set of leadership positions from R&D to product management. Prior to joining Qualcomm, Ziad was at Texas Instruments where he worked on systems design of UMTS & LTE and OMAP Product Management. Ziad played a pivotal role in the design of the first UMTS chipset at Texas instruments.

Ziad holds an MBA from UCSD and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Purdue University and Southern Methodist University. He is a senior Member of IEEE.
